Advertisement of our school

 Hello everyone! So for cyber smart we had to get into groups of 2 or three and I chose to be with Celine and Mya. But before we get onto anything else here is a quick reminder for you. Wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice your social distancing and if you are sick stay home and try and get better and if you are sick and you need to go to the shops then bring a mask and wear it. Now lets get back onto the fun work!

Japan Christmas

 Hello everyone! Today's learning is going to be about Christmas around the world! Before we get onto those stuff I am going to be telling you about what you need to do cause obviously this virus is still around so please wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice social distancing and if you are sick try and stay home and drink medicine. And if you re sick and you really need to go to the shops and get something then wear masks so we can stop the spread of the virus and just pray that it goes soon enough.

Now time for what we had to do. So what room 6 had to do was research about different countries and find out what they do on Christmas day or Christmas eve and how they celebrate it and there were a lot of countries to search about and find out and then at the end we had to show the class what we learned about the country we were researching on and what they do and how they celebrate it. Then we had to make a DLO and post it on our blog teaching others about what the country we were researching about of how they celebrate Christmas Day! I chose Japan!

Fake News Learning

 Hello everyone! Today's learning is going to be about fake news and how to know that you are about to read or see or watch fake news. But before we get onto those certain things I am going to tell you guys what to do through this tough situation so please stay hoe if you are sick and wear masks everywhere you go if you really need to go somewhere and your sick and practice your social distancing and try and work from home if you can or do your school work at home if you are still in school, now back onto my learning.

So for cyber smart this week and last week kind of is evaluating media. So what we had to do was watch a video about fake news and how to tell what is fake news so I'm going to tell you a few hints on how to see what is fake news before I show you what we had to do after. Here is a few hints on how to tell it is fake news: there will be a .co at the end and if you see pictures on the site or video search them up and see if they took it off another site and then if they did it is fake and here is one more hint is if you see fake dates that don't exist or if you see a year that is like 2024 then it's fake cause it is still 2020.

Now for what we had to do was make our own fake news so here is mine:

One thing I enjoyed was getting to make my own funny fake news cause I found it interesting on how people can make fake news and how they make it look real

Something that i found difficult was trying to make it look real cause all the other fake news looked so real so thats what I tried to do

My learning about Temperatures

 Hello everyone!

For the past few weeks I have been learning about temperatures. What we had to do was obviously learn about temperatures so what we had to do was go through a slideshow and then answer the questions on them on a different slide. Before I get onto other stuff I am going to do another reminder for all of you and I do this cause I don't want the virus to spread I want it to stop so please wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice your social distancing and if you are sick stay home and go see a doctor and just stay safe and be careful. Now back onto temperatures, after we filled in the questions what we had to do was answer some more questions which was minusing numbers to make them into negative numbers then after that we had to make our own thermometer and order some temperatures from coldest to hottest on a thermometer. Then after that we had to answer some more questions on a google doc and the last question asked us to make a line graph and putting 14 temperatures for 2 weeks. 

Then finally after we learned about temperatures we had to make a DLO to show our understanding of temperatures so here is mine and I know it might be a little basic but I tried:

Ballads

 Hello Everyone!

So for the past few weeks we have been focusing on ballads for writing and we had to write some about camp. If you don't know what a ballad is then you have came to the right place but before I tell you what a ballad poem is I am going to give you another reminder about the virus. Wash your hand for 20 seconds and if you are sick stay home and social distance and wear masks when you need to. Now a ballad is when you have 5 lines and the two lines on the top have to rhyme and the next two lines have to rhyme and the last line has to rhyme with the top two lines so it basically cause like A A B B A to make it easier for you to understands.

What is Media?

 Hello everybody! I am back posting with some new good content and today's post is going to be about Cyber smart. So room 6 just came back from technology and we came back and now what we had to do was watch two videos and learn about 'what is media.' Media can be everywhere around you and it can be apps but it's not just different apps it can also be posters and billboards trying to pull you into what they want you to do. For example if you see a billboard of a guy drinking coke what the person is trying to make you do is buy coke cause they are trying to lock you into it.

What our task was to make our own media and it had to be about something that happened at school. I decided to make a News Poster about our school camp and it was about the students rating the food that we got their at camp. We had to add comments to the post and we had to add information about the topic which was St Bernadette's students rating the food at camp and we also had to add click bates which are obviously not real but just pretend it is.

THE GOLDEN RULE!

 Wow it's been a long time since I posted on my blog! It's been like 3 weeks since I posted but I'm back with some more good work to post for you guys so you guys can learn what I'm learning here at school! I have honestly missed posting my work for you guys but I'm back! And still remember that this COVID-19 is still going around so wash your hands for 20 seconds and if you are sick stay home and practice your social distancing with people. Some of you might be in lock down reading this right now but don't worry cause it will still be fun!

So today's post is going to be about my R.E so what we had to do for R.E was to make a DLO about a sentence in the bible that our teacher read to us and the bible verse she read to us was 'Luke-6 27:31.' We had to make a relatable scenario about what we could use that sentence for and I chose "Do others as you would do to you." 

So here is my DLO:

Sacraments

 Wow I can't believe it's the last week of term 3! It will be a long time till I post again so might as well post some R.E work! So last week and this week my class has been working on the different Sacraments. We had three different tasks to do well 4 but I'll explain that bit later. So the first activity was to make a DLO about the Sacraments of Initiation and then the second activity was to make a DLO showing how the Sacraments of Healing gives us Grace and then the third activity was to make a newspaper about how Bishops and Priests  and different leadership roles in the Church carry out their Responsibilities in the Catholic Church and everywhere! And the fourth and finale activity we needed to do was make one or more symbols for all the sacraments using Scratch!

But before I show you and tell you what I needed to post I'm going to give you some tips for every single day that you need to use since this COVID is still going around. So wear a mask and practice your Social distancing and if you are sick stay at home and go to a doctor to get some medicine. And if you need to sneeze or cough then do it onto a tissue or if you don't have tissues cough or sneeze onto your arm.

Holy Orders: Holy Orders is when we express our call to Religious life. It is when a Priest prays for someone that wants to become a Priest and they bless them. So when someone becomes a Pope, Bishop or a Priest they receive Holy Orders. So what they do is serve other Catholic followers. What people need to do first is heal and preach in their name or Jesus’ and then the two main steps to take Holy Orders is to have your hands laying and prayer of consecration.

Marriage: This is where you commit yourself to someone when you have Marriage. You are promising yourself and everyone that you want to stay with that person forever! When you have Marriage, Jesus gives the strength and grace to live the real life of Marriage. Marriage is one of the most important Sacraments because it is a time to be united with someone you love and you want to spend the rest of your life with them so you can feel God’s presence in another way!

So those are the Sacraments of Commitment. You need to be Responsible when you have Marriage and when you take Holy Orders and you need to look after the Person you are married to and you need to look after whoever is in your Diocese if you are a Bishop and if you are a Priest you need to look after your Parish.

For this one we had to describe the Sacraments of Commitment and the Responsibilities for it.

Maori Language week!

 So this week is Maori language week well last week was Maori language week and we had to do a task for Maori language week! So what we had to do was choose one of the Maori things to learn about like the Maori Alphabet, numbers greetings and animals. We only had to choose one and on each slide there were different links and videos so we could learn more about it! I chose to do the Maori Alphabet cause I actually don't know the Maori Alphabet so I was excited to learn and then teach right after I learnt the Maori Alphabet! But before I teach you about Maori Alphabet and tell you more of what I did i'm going to give you some tips since the Corona Virus is still going around. 

1. Wear a Mask. 2. If you are sick stay at home. 3. Practice your social distancing. 4. Wash your hands for 20 seconds, and just stay safe. We can get through this Pandemic if you do these things. Okay, now back to the real deal.

So what we had to do was make a DLO using different tools to make our DLO's. My teacher said we had to be creative so that's what I did! Here is my DLO:

Changing Improper Fraction to Mixed Fractions

 Hello everyone! This might be one of my last posts since this week is week 10! And week 10 is the last week of school and the last week of term 3 which is crazy! I know this will probably be my last Math post in two weeks because you know we get two weeks off from school then it's term 4! So today I am going to teach you how to turn Improper Fractions to Mixed Fractions. On the slideshow in our Site and there were 4 different strategy's and one of them were changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Fractions so that is what I am going to teach you guys about today!

But before we get into any thing else first I want to talk about the Corona Virus that has still been going on since the start of 2020! So I want to make sure you are all safe and wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice your social distancing and wear masks and if you are sick stay home and see a Doctor. Scratch Shapes

 Hey guys so today Me and my class and room 5 barely did like any proper school work. But instead we had to join different hangouts about different toolkits! We had 4 different sessions in different  times and we there were several different school in the Uru Manuka Cluster. We all learned different toolkits to use in our learning and Blogs and skills that can help us in the future.

    My first session was about making a Mihi and using a Mihi Maker and my second session was about Suped-Up slides with something called Pear peak or something like that then my third session was about Scratch Shapes and for my fourth session I joined a different one because it was supposed to be a Mihi Maker again but I didn't think I needed to do it so I chose something else.

Something I enjoyed was seeing all the new people and learning new things!

Something I found difficult was that I couldn't really hear anything and they were explaining to fast.

Adding Decimals

 Hello everyone! So today I a going to tell you about how to add Decimals! So in my Math's group we have been learning how to add Decimals together. I decided to make a quick google drawing of some questions! I will give you some tips of adding Decimals together so it can be easier when you do need to add decimals. So you can make one Decimal turn into a tidy number by taking away how much you need from the other Decimal and add it onto the one you want to make into a tidy number!

Keelhauling Punishment

 I actually haven't posted in a long time but I'm back. I think the last time i posted was last week and I used to always post a lot. Like I said in my latest post that there was a SPAM going on in one of the classes but now I'm back posting some good work! And still remember that the corona virus is still going around so make sure to wash your hands for 20 seconds, keep your masks on and follow the safety rules. Now let's get onto the fun stuff! So this week for reading we have been learning about Keelhauling. And most of you know that my school is learning about Pirates this term. Keelhauling is a type of punishment pirate so when Pirate betrays them or something like that. We had to answer not that much questions but quite a bit and I decided to answer one of them now here.

So the question is: What are some other Punishments that Pirates did? One of the most poplar ones is the marooning punishment. The marooning punishment is when all the pirate go against the one that is getting punished.

Important events in the Pope's Life

 Hello Everyone! I am back posting like I said in my last post cause there was a little SPAM going around my school and I am pretty sure the teachers have it under control now. So that means I can get back to posting some good work! So today's post is going to be about some R.E that I have done. My class has been working on the Pope and what we had to do was pick a topic about the Bishop and I picked to do the Important events in the Pope's life and we had to do three questions about it. One Factual question which is the When or What, a Conceptual Question which is the How or why and the Debatable question which is the is, could, would or should question. And you had to choose one of them. Then we had to make three answers for each question we chose. 

We had to make a DLO or like a poster about our Topic that we chose so here is mine: 

Something that I enjoyed doing was finding out what important events that have happened in the Pope's life and I was shocked with the results that came in!

Something I found difficult was trying to find the right events that actually happened cause some sites weren't true.

Koru's and Kowhaiwhai

 Hey everyone! I'm back after a really long time actually. I hope you guys missed me posting up my work and now I'm back posting some new work! So my first post after a really long time is going to be about Koru's and Kowhaiwhai. A Koru is a swirly kinda thing and it came from the Ponga plant and is now decorated onto ceiling and mostly meeting houses. A Kowhaiwhai is a panel and the Koru's are found on it and it is a famous Maori art. I also put in my information another type of panel but you will have to read it to find out!

This is the information that I found about Koru's and Kowhaiwhai:

The word Koru means loop in English. A Koru is shaped into a spiral shape that was found and based onto the unfuring sliver fern frond of the Ponga Plant! The Koru represents new life, growth, strength and peace. It is a famous symbol in Maori art.

A Koru is found in Kowhaiwhai patterns. The traditional colors on it is red, white and black! It is usually found on ceilings. Kowhaiwhai represents Maori history and the family tree of the tribe. The Koru inspires paintings by reflecting the colors of nature. It symbolizes the growth on New Zealand. 

Kowhaiwhai is also used to tell a story. Like people use it as tattoo and show their story! There is another type of Panel like the Kowhaiwhai which is the tukotuko panels. It is another Maori art form tat is inside meeting houses.

Pirates Cipher Weels

Hello Everyone! Wow it has been two weeks since I last posted! Wow and I do miss blogging but I did have some fun in the holidays oh and speaking of Holidays what did you do in the Holidays? Comment down below what you did in your Holidays cause I went to Hammer Springs had a fun sleepover with my Best Friends had lots of Star bucks which was so good! And i also ate a lot of junk food but it's okay! And we also watched Frozen 2 again because it is so good and I had some quality time with my Friends and Family which was really fun! But now I am her back again at school. But it's okay at least I am back with a positive attitude and I am posting really good content now!

So for this term's Topic I guess is Pirates which I found was pretty interesting and a wee bit crazy but it was really fun learning about it! And I still want all of you to be careful cause this Virus is still going around and I don't want it to spread so wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice your social distancing if you are still quarantine and my country is in level 1 and I am glad we are COVID FREE here in New Zealand but still be careful and if you are sick stay home. Like they say Stay Home save lives! Okay now let's get onto the real school stuff!

So like I said this term well half of this term our School is going to be learning about Pirates! And here is a little quick tip on Pirates: Pirates used Cipher weels because they didn't want People to know what they were saying in Pirate Language and just in normal language. So what we did was make our own Cipher Weels with letters and numbers and hide a crunchie bar and put out like messages around the school on a sticky note and on that sticky note we would put the different codes to spell out what we were saying.

So everybody welcome back to my blog and today's blog post is going to be about Reading! So this week we didn't do our usual Morning Reading routine. Since the Matariki stars appear in late May or Early June. So the whole class for Reading we had to pick between a few countries that was related to Matariki. There was Japan, Turkey and so many others! So the Country I chose was Turkey and what it was about was Ulker which is the seven sisters and I am not going to say much and I only added quite a little bit in my DLO because I couldn't find much information about it so sorry about that but in my next blog post I am sure to make sure there is a lot information for you guys to read!

Comic about Jesus' Journey after Baptism!

Hello everybody welcome back to my blog! Today I will be posting about my R.E and telling you about some safety guidelines just like i always do in every single blog post! Lets get into it! So as you could see in my last post we were doing R.E and I am posting my R.E again! And we are doing learning tasks with like keys and so this is key 4 and we had to watch three videos of the Journeys that Jesus went through after His Baptism like going to the Desert for 40 days and Healing people!

Newspaper Report about Jesus' Baptism!

Hello Everybody! It is me Kylie and this week for R.E we are learning about Jesus' Baptism and His story on how He got Baptized. But before I get into anything like school work I am going to say something I always say since it is still going around please if you are sick stay at home and practice your social distancing and if your country is in level 1 still be careful and wash your hands for 20 seconds and I always say this cause I get anxiety whenever I hear that there are more cases and just Pray that it will go away and now lets get started with the real deal!

Anyways we had to look at this video first and it was about this girl telling us about how Gabriel visited Mary and told her about Jesus and how Elizabeth is Pregnant and Mary was shocked cause Elizabeth is so old that she can't have a Baby but it was a Miracle from God and now Mary is getting a Baby and He shall be named Jesus the Son of God! And then we watched another Video and it was the same thing that I just talked about but Gabriel was singing about it!

Then we had to answer these questions referring to the video then we had to make a News Report about Jesus' Baptism so here is mine:

Something I enjoyed was looking at all the videos and information about Jesus' Baptism!

Something I found difficult was using the Newspaper Generator cause it was my first time and I didn't really know how to work it but next time I use it I will be a pro at it!

Matariki!

As most of you know it is Matariki time or past Matariki time because it is celebrated and they appear on late May or Early June! Wait Kylie what are you talking about you might ask or what is Matariki well for reading this week we don't have any reading activities to do but since Matariki has passed we are learning about Matariki and I am just gonna give you all a head start before I get into the real deal! Matariki is about Maori new year! And what the Maori do is that they sing, dance eat and talk about their ancestors and ancestry! And that sounds fun! Bit they also make kites and they let them fly on Matariki day! Oh wait is that too much information or was it enough?

And also the whole Corona Virus thing is still going around so still keep cautious of whoever you are with and wash your hands for 20 seconds and all of you might get sick of me writing these things every time in my blog posts but I just don't want it to keep spreading so please share the same message to all of your family and friends so we can stop the spread from just one blog post please!

But anyways what we had to do for Reading this week is our teacher (Ms Wilton) set out 4 different websites and readings that we had to watch or read through then on the least activity there was a reading and 10 questions in it and we had to answer those questions on a google doc so here is me answering all the questions:

What is Matariki?

Matariki is when the 7 brothers or sisters shine up in the sky at night time in late May or early June as stars and that is when the Maori get the time to remember their ancestors and ancentry and it is also Maori New Year!

What is a Constellation?

It is another Word for cluster or like a small group of something like in this case a small group of stars.

When do the Matariki Stars Reappear?

Late May or Early June.

What did the Maori believe the stars would look like if it was going to be a good season?

The stars would shine bright.

What do these words in Te Reo Maori mean in english?

Whenua - Land

Whanau - Family

Whakapapa - Ancestry

List two ways Maori People Celebrate Matariki:

They talk about their ancestors and they eat lots of kai (food).

During Matariki, people celebrate with music, songs, dance, food and family. True or False?

Christmas because Me and my Family has this group we have with other families and we call it the gang and we are not actually “A Gang” but we call it that because I don’t know really we just started hanging out all the time and I became best friends with the people I met and I get to spend time with them all day at Christmas time. It is obviously celebrated on the 25th of December and how we celebrate it is we sing Karaoke, we eat food and we talk about things and have a great time!

Think of one way you could celebrate Matariki with your class or family. What would you do?

We would have lots of food in trays outside and at night time we would lay down in the grass outside and look at the stars. 

But that is not the DLO we had to do. And then after that we had to make a DLO teaching others about Matariki and using our Knowledge that we just learned in the different websites. So here is my DLO teaching you guys about Matariki:

Mahinga Kai!

So this week for reading we are not doing any reading activities today the whole class is doing the same reading well not all of us so Mars and Saturn and I am in Saturn we are reading about Mahinga Kai! And Mercury and Jupiter are reading about Poha and Mahinga Kai and Poha are both related to food! So since I am in Saturn I will tell you a little bit about Mahinga Kai only a little bit though cause that means if I told you everything my DLO would just be a waste of time! Oh speaking of DLO we had to make a DLO about what we were reading about and instead of doing a boring google drawing, boring google doc and a boring slideshow since we do that all the time I decided to make a Powtoon! So now I am going to tell you one small little thing about Mahinga Kai! And it is about Food Processing!

And like I say all the time since Corona Virus is still happening please social distance and if you are sick isolate so others don't get it and ask your doctor to come and help you feel better and wash your hands for 20 seconds remember that and stay safe!

So first we had to look at the story and read it then watch a video about it and read this website about it as well then there was this google doc that we had to pit our names in and find another website of hour own and link it next to our names! Then it said to create a DLO teaching others about Mahinga Kai so here is my DLO:

Something I enjoyed was learning about Mahinga Kai cause it is actually something I don't learn about and haven't learned about so it is so cool to learn something new!

Something I found difficult was thinking about what DLO I wanted to do cause there are so many cool ways to present different things!

CERR Value Tokens are back!

So as you all know and most of you should be back at school and not doing any home school things anymore cause here in New Zealand we are in level 1 now which is great but we still need to be careful when we travel cause like they say if you get corona from a stranger they don't know where you got it from or who you got it from so yes just stay safe and sanitize and wash your hands and stay hygienic! So today I am just going to be writing things on this blog post and I'm not going to put like a google drawing or a DLO up because today I want to talk about the CERR Value tokens! So lets get started!

So a few years ago here at St Bernadette's school whenever it was recess time teachers had these tokens and we had four colored tokens that we used to get, the colors were Red, Blue, Yellow and green. And as you know I am in a catholic school so we have Catholic Values. Most of you know the CERR Values we have here at St Bernadette's. Compassion, Excellence, Responsibility and Respect. The color for Compassion is Red, The color for Excellence is yellow, the color for Responsibility is blue and the color for Respect is green! So at Recess time whenever the duty teacher so someone doing something good or using one of the Values they would give them a token. For example if I was showing Responsibility by picking up rubbish then I would get a blue token and then at the end of the day we would get a prize from our teacher and I was a little kid back then.

But now we don't have them anymore but there is this boy called Caleb Breen and he is like a boy who can't really control himself and I don't want to say that he is a physco or like there is something wrong with him but he has just been doing so much bad things to everyone and one day everyone just had enough! We locked all the doors and so much people started crying and even I started crying and my teacher cried to but that was on another day but still! So then he got suspended till today, which is Friday and we just finished doing tech.

But while he was not here at school my teacher decided to bring back the CERR Value Tokens back! So on Tuesday our class decided to make three stations because our Teacher wanted  to reward us children who doesn't do what Caleb Breen does! The three stations were a CERR Cafe, Building station and a Crafts Station.

The CERR Cafe is where the year 8's make hot chocolate, toast and cereal and serve some candies and milk and we pay for it but with the tokens so we can get food by paying tokens. So our Teacher Ms Wilton will be watching us carefully. And if we get 20 tokens by the end of this term we can have a Private lunch with our Principal Mr Norman!

The Building Station is where we can build with blocks or legos to build something and the Craft Station is where there are like play doh, gel pens and other fun Arts and Craft tools!

So that is what we have been doing and I thought you guys would love to here what is going on here at school then just work so maybe suggest this to your teacher if you think your class is a really good behaved class!

So this week for R.E we are learning about God in the old Testament. We were put into Buddies and my Partner was Ella Kearney. Then everyone got a passage we needed to find and read about and we needed to think about and then we needed to do a Poster on Paper of a Drawing that symbolizes that passage and we needed to write the Passage and who was it from and what it means. And I hope everyone is staying safe and washing their hands and social distancing and I always say this cause this Virus is a really big Virus and it is one of the worst Virus's the world has probably have. So if your sick Isolate yourself so it won't spread and right now my Country New Zealand is in level 1 now so I am back to school and everyone is but there are still people around the world Quarantined. So please follow the safety rules so we can all be safe!

Maybe all of you guys who are reading this right now can try something like me and Ella did here at school! Like make a poster if you are bored like find a reading from the Bible and write it down and write the passage from it and who it was from and make a drawing that can symbolize it and what it means! And post it on your blog just like what I have done right now! My one was about God being an Eagle and us people were the Eagle Babies and the Eagle will catch us if we fall just like God will catch us if we fall apart from God.

So maybe try something like this:

And we also have to write down in our blog post how we can be more like the Holy Spirit so how I can be more like the Holy Spirit is by helping others in need and forgiving others who might have hurt me cause that is what Jesus did and I want to be more like Jesus! And I can show Goodness to everyone and Joy so if they are feeling sad I can make them happy!

VIOS Vs Uma!

Hello Everyone! Like I said in my latest post I am back at school posting some really good content! And remember the safety guidelines within your country like for example Social distancing, if you are sick stay home and wash your hands for 20 seconds cause we need to stop the spreading of this Virus and in y Country we are in level 2 so we can go to school and I know most of you are back at school! And this is my second post at school and I really hope you are all enjoying my work on my blog cause I really like to show my work to you guys! And hopefully it will be COVID free soon so I can post better content on my blog and entertain all of you! But for now lets not think negative and always think positive! Now onto some good old work!

So I have been working on this even at the start of lock down so for like 8 WEEKS! And I am very proud of how it turned out and I hope you all enjoy! So for writing in the lock down that I have been working on for 8 weeks! Is a google form that is called VIOS Vs Uma and VIOS means Victory is ours! And Uma is the Pirate Leader! So we were put into groups and I was in Tahi and there were other 3 groups Rua, Toru and Wha and I was put in Tahi with some other people. How we communicated was using hangouts so we could discuss things and my teacher Ms Wilton made a dog so we could put our Ideas and then put it all together in a google form! And then now I am back at school so I added Images!

Ways I can be more like Jesus!

So everybody I got some bad news. I am back at school! And I now most of you will be back at school as well! and like I would say in all of my posts is to stay safe and wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice your social distancing. And if your sick stay home, and like they say on the posters "Stay Home, Save Lives"! And we all want this Virus to go so we can live our normal lives again but I mean we are but not really cause we can only have 10 people at our houses and it will be hard cause your missing people you always used to hang out with. And everybody please stay safe and don't burst your bubbles and now lets get onto the positive side and just not think negative and always think positive!

So today is a Monday and it is the first day back at school from like 8 WEEKS! And that is like a long time! and it is week 6 for term 2! So everybody has been stuck at home for a very long time! And yes I do miss my friends and my school and everyone that I didn't get to see for the past 8 weeks. But I'm glad I can see them again! So for my first ever blog post back at school in 8 weeks is R.E! So today for R.E is about different ways I can be more like Jesus! As you all know I am catholic and I need to follow in Jesus' footsteps. So our task was to make a DLO about all the different ways we can be like Jesus and we used our Knowledge when we were back in lock down with the Virtues and we had to include Virtues in our DLO! And I decided to use a Biteable because it is really easy to use and I definitely recommend it!

So here is my DLO on all the different ways that I can be more more like Jesus (I also put some questions for you guys to answer):

Making Pancakes!

So this blog post is the last blog post I am going to do till we go back to school! And I know that everyone must be very devostaded that we are going back to school but it is just going to be like this and I am pretty sure we will keep our distances and stay 2 meters away from eachother I just feel like it would feel and be very weird and I don't I would like it but we'll see how it goes. And by today it would be level 2 but we still need to stay safe and if you are sick stay home make sure that you don't have big parties and stuff like that, that you shouldn't be doing espically through these hard times and with everything that is going on in the world right now. But hopefully it will be COVID Free so we don't need to stay 2 meters away and we can have big parties cause I know most of you had your birthday parties in quartine just like me! BUt lets get on with the post and I am excited for this one cause today we are making pancakes!

So for this weeks last post in quartine and at home before I go back to school is lets say since we are in the expirement journey right now. Today is another expirement and we had see the Maillard Reaction to Pancakes! So I felt really excited when I hear we got to make Pancakes and our teacher put a recipe on our site so we can make it from that but I found the recipe confusing so I searched up my one. And I did that yesterday so I decided to write on my note book so I can just read everything on that! And the recipe I found gotted everything I had at home so it was perfect! And if you don't know what a Maillard reaction is, well you have came to the right place!

So a Maillard reaction is really cool! So what happens with a Maillard reaction if your cooking pancakes if you make the pancake batter and put some on your pan you put your stove to a medium temperature and if you leave the pancake their for quite a long time that is a good thing caus ethat is how you make the perfect pancakes but the Maillard reaction to it is the bubbles that start popping in the sides because it has been kept on the oven for a long time so that is the Maillard reaction!

Something I enjoyed was of course making the pancakes and eating it cause it was so good! 

Something I found difficult was not really anything but it was a new experiment for me cause to be honest I have never made pancakes before the only time I can eat some is when my Mum cooks them for me and my brothers in the morning so it was new for me and I liked it and I would definetly do it again!

Banana Slime!

Hello Everyone! I hope all of you are staying safe and washing your hands for 20 seconds! And remember Social distancing! As most of you know most of the countries are moving down a level like in my country we are moving down to level 2 soon so I might be going back to school soon! But still follow the safety guidlines wherever you are! But I am all about staying postive and even though this big pandemic going on in the world it is not gonna stop me from posing fun and new content on my blog so lets get right into the positive stuff but like I said still follow those safety guidlines they are there for a reason!

So this week on Fridays what we usually do while we are still in homeschool what we do is Topic like all day! But we can also finish other work that needs finishing and I have finished all my work except Maths cause there are like so many worksheets we need to do so I cant be bothered but if I really got nothing else to do I do it! And I do it on Maths time but it is a Friday so it is experiment time! So for todays Topic expirimet was to make different types of lets say Slime and some other things. The different things that we could make today and we could just do one or we could do all of them and this time I just decided to do one. And comment down below which one do you think I chose! So the different expiriments we could do was: Edible Slime, Make slimes that doesn't include glue, Magic Trick (I dont know what that is) and Lockdown Loaf you get it cause we are in lockdown!

So here is the answer! I chose to do a slime that doesn't need glue and in the site it had 6 different types of slimes that doesn't nee dglue and that gives you guys another question which one did I choose! Here are the different slimes I could choose from to make slime without glue: Jelly Slime, Banana Slime, Hand Soap Slime, Toothpaste Slime, Shower Gel Slime and Lastly Shampoo Slime! Guess which one I chose and I chosed to do the Banana Slime! When I watched the Video how to make it, I was really Impressed on how to make it and I have like all the ingredients for it so that would be great!

Something I enjoyed was actually making the slime cause I just found it really fun even though the next day I found out it was a big fail!

Something I found difficult was not really anything. And yes all of this is new to me and like I have never ever made banana slime before and I didn't like how it turned out but its okay maybe next time it will work out!

Happy ANZAC Day

So I know today isn't ANZAC Day but tomorrow is ANZAC Day and so my Teacher (Ms Wilton) Assigned  Room 6 to choose to do some or all or maybe even just one of the ANZAC Activities and the different activities that were on the slideshow were to make ANZAC Biscuits, Make a ANZAC Wreath, Make a DLO about our learning for the "last post" and this one is just a an Idea for our Family's which is to set up prayers and do a bunch of these things that are related to ANZAC things for example listen to the last post. And I have a challenge for everyone who is reading this right now guess how much I chose to do and which ones I did comment? And I will say the answer but everyone has to be truthful and so the answer is..... I chose two! And the ones I chose to do is make the wreath and make a DLO of what I have learned about the "last post".

And this is like the main thing about ANZAC Day that I forgot to mention: So I know most people would know that we go to a place to celebrate ANZAC Day I forgot where it is but we go out and we can't cause we are all quarantined in our houses so this is why the people who prepare ANZAC Day have tried their best to make it work and if you guys don't know I am going to tell you now! So what they are going to do is it on live TV so everyone is New Zealand can watch it and participate on ANZAC Day! 

And like I said in my recent posts please take this whole Corona Virus thing Serious cause we want more people to recover from it not more people dieing from it or like getting it so if we are gonna go on level 3 still practice your 2 meters away please and wash your hands for 20 seconds everybody. Like they say unite against Covid-19!

Something I enjoyed was making the wreath because I found it fun and really exciting!

Something I found difficult was making the ANZAC Wreath cause it took me 3 hours to do! And I stayed outside for 3 hours! And you can see it went to day to night so please I would really appreciate a good Job Kylie!

Teaching Standard Form!

So for this week and last week for Maths we had to go through our own group slideshows and work out through some activities but for each like page of the worksheet was a strategy that we had to use and so after or before you had to do the worksheet we had to make a DLO teach you guys one of the strategy's from the worksheet and one of the strategy's in the worksheet was standard form and standard form is one of my favorite strategy's to use, and there are lots of other strategy's I really like but Standard form is just like one of the easiest once you get the hang of it. So I decided to make a slideshow but with very good animation to help you guys more with Standard form.

I also wanted to say that please every one stay safe and practice your social distancing and wear masks and gloves when you go outside and stay home and stay safe thank you!

My Chocolate Mug Cake!

So today I went on a Face time with my teacher and Classmates and we did our Prayers and talked about what we were going to do today and today we are just doing one subject because usually on Fridays we go to technology but since with everything that is going on in the world right now we are quarantined in our houses and doing online school and so we are doing Topic but it's really fun topic! But before I talk about anything else and I will always talk about in my blog posts until this is over. So I just wanted to say everybody stay safe and stay home and it's really important to stay hygienic especially in a time like this. So yes please do what I said cause it is very dangerous to go outside and just like go and meet up with your friends but dont do that! Thank you but anyways lets get on with what I am really here for.

So today as I said I went on a call with my teacher and classmates and talked about what we were going to do for Topic! So what we had to do for Topic was to look at this site that had a video and some information about Physical and Chemical Changes. So if you do not know what Physical and Chemical Changes are then you came to the right place! So first of all a Physical Change is when a type of change is not formed into anything, for example boiling water. A Chemical Change is the exact opposite of a physical change so a Chemical change must be a type of change that a new type of substance is formed.  And today we got to make something that was included with Physical or Chemical Changes and I am going to make a Chocolate mug cake! It is a really easy recipe and it has a physical change because it does not get formed into anything!

Something I enjoyed was making the cake cause it was really fun to do school and do something fun at the same time!

Something I found difficult was trying to get the videos on this blog post so I can explain what I am doing but seems like I dont know how to do it but oh well!

Virtues

So I know that I haven't posted anything for a while now because teachers and principals have made the holidays come forward so now I'm back to good content and good quality work! And I hope everyone if staying at home and staying safe and always washing your hands for 20 seconds especially with like the whole Virus and all the things that are right now happening. But how I like to say things when it is a time like this is to stay positive and keep your working streak up! But for this week for R.E we are learning about different Virtues. Virtues are ways that you can live like Jesus and make our world a better place to live in! So we had to do 9 different activities! 

And yes I know that is a lot but I got through it so the first activity we had to do was fill out a google form of what we already know about Virtues and to be honest I didn't know anything until the next activity which was we had to listen and read to some facts about Virtues. Then the 4th activity after that was to go on this google doc and write your name and write three Virtues and add what they meant, after we had to fill out another google form but I forgot what it said in it and stuff like that but of course its gonna be about Virtues. After that activity we had to listen to the story of the Rainbow fish. Then after that we had to fill out a google doc asking us some questions about us people and the Rainbow fish to do with Virtues cause Virtues is what we are learning! And the last activity which is the one I am going to post was to make a Venn Diagram about how Jesus showed different Virtues and how people showed different Virtues and in the middle we had to include how people can show Virtues to be more like Jesus! And the last activity was we had o draw a flower that had 5 raindrops and 6 petals on like a stalk of a flower and in the petals we had to write what Virtues we wanted to do and in the Raindrops we put how people showed Virtues!

An Unexpected Adventure

So I am still doing online school and I hope all of you are staying home and staying safe! But anyways this week for writing we had to choose a prompt from the slideshow that Ms Wilton made for us and there were 10 different prompts and the first one was An Ice Plunge, the second one was under the bed and the third one was Expecto Patronum. The fourth one was on the prowl, the fifth one was Homecoming and the sixth one was The Beginning, the Seventh one was An Unexpected Adventure and the eighth one was Mr Wolf, the ninth one was Hanging on and lastly the tenth one was also called Hanging on apparently but yeah!

So we had to choose one of those prompts and I decided to choose the seventh one which is the Unexpected adventure cause I found it really interesting and there was a story starter and we had to use the story started in our story and their were lots of activities we had to do for our writing as well and then we used to learn these languages features so we had to include them in our writing so here is my story and all the activities that I had to do for my prompt:

She knew that it hadn’t been a good idea to leave the tap running, but now she was starting to enjoy

herself. Then suddenly the next moment she would blink her eyes there was a big hole!

All the water just started draining into the hole like a Human sucking so much food! Even the shower,

bathtub, toilet and like everything in the bathroom!

“Woah” Emily said! “Where am I”? “It’s so dark in here I can’t see a thing!,

Maybe it’s just my eyesight or I don't even know!” “But I need to get back to my house otherwise my

Parents are going to worry”! I felt the darkness suck me in the air!  “Wait, I just forgot their on Vacation,

well at least it gets me more time to get out of here cause I don’t want to stay here forever!” So as

kept walking to a direction she found a hidden tunnel or should I say sewer that led to the sea! She

decided to get something from her pocket called a Golden apple that can give you a ride under sea

with a bathtub! You know what they say the early human gets a bath!

And as she slowly, sluggishly, swam with a stinky shark to the sea and she could see her dreams come

true. She saw all the different animals and then splash all she could think about was living there

but the ride was like millions of miles… 10 years later… So after those years she knew she got her

dream in the winners bag and she lived under the sea with all of her friends happily ever after!

But where are her parents…..

Where did her Journey begin?	Emily left the tap on and then when she came back into the bathroom the whole room was flooded and it even made a big hole!!!!
Why was it unexpected?	Because she didn’t really know what was going to happen and then a big hole happened and she forgot to turn the tap off so it was just a big mess.
Where will she go on her adventure?	Well she goes and sees her dream come true and she never knew that it would happen especially like this way and she loves to see animals and she always wanted to live under the sea!
What things will she encounter?	Her dream is living under water and even seeing animals and living the best time of her life but the only thing she doesn't know is if she will see her parents ever again.
How will she get back home?	Her animal friends can take her back safely at her house door and her parents won’t be worried anymore because they finally found their daughter.
How might she be feeling in the adventure?	Very happy and worried and also sad at the same time cause she would feel happy cause her Dream has come true. Worried because she doesn't know what her parents would think and sad cause she would miss her family!
What will her Parents be thinking?	They would probably be very worried and they would go looking for her until they find her!
Would you like to go on an adventure like this? If you do please explain.	I don’t really want to, to be honest because I would be very scared and I don’t want to go all the way under sea and I would miss my Family.
