See you in the Cosmos.

In class Mrs Lee has been reading us a book called see you in the Cosmos and it's a boy named Alex who wants to shoot a rocket into space and record these different recordings on his Golden Ipod. He has a dog named Carl Sagan and he named his Dog from his Hero who also shooted a rocket into space and is also a scientist. 

But when Alex shooted his rocket into space it failed but he found some new friends called Steve and Zed. Alex though something interesting about Zed because he would not talk at all he would just write on a chalkboard because Zed took a vow of silence. 

But later on through out the book Zed started talking but I'll talk about that a little bit later. But anyways his rocket fell and Alex found some new friends. When he woke up he started recording again on his Golden Ipod .

I'm not gonna tell you anymore cause I don't want to spoil it for you, but if you want to know what happens next you will have to go and buy the book.

My favorite part of the book was when Alex found his Half sister Terra and they became really close and found out they had the same Dad. This was kinda a sad book because Alex lost his Dog and his Mum has like Scitchefrina which is like a Mental problem and so Alex's Brother Ronnie has to look after him.

But anyways for Reading after we have like finished our tasks for reading we have to do some see you in the cosmos work so like Mrs Lee gives us a task about each chapter we have read in the week. We have to put everything in one DLO so here is mine. 




By the way my class has finished see you in the cosmos and we will be reading a new book. I will finish the weeks that I haven't finished soon.

Early Christians

For R.E in room 5 we have been learning about the Church and how like different people helped in the Church and why they're important in the Church. Our task was to read 6 different people and find out what their role was in the church, how they were important in the church and how they helped the Church. After we read all six of the people which were Peter, Lydia, Aquila and Priscilla they're a married couple, Stephan, Phoebe and Paul. They are the six people we had to read about.

But Mrs Lee said that we only had to choose three people we wanted to write about and like how they're important in the Church, what their role was and how they helped the church. Then after we chosed the three people we wanted to write about we ha to put all the information on an animaker which is a DLO that I have used before and I have talked about and so we had to use animaker to put the information in.

What is at the bottom o the sea? W10 Infographic

This week for the last week of term 3 my group (Danny) read a non-fiction book. I know we read a non-fiction book last week but that's what Mrs Lee said to read. My group's non-fiction text was called what is at the bottom of the sea. When I first heard we were reading this I felt excited cause I always wanted to know what's at the bottom of the sea. The text told us about the different things that live under the sea. The creatures that live under the sea actually look really ugly! But besides that it was very interesting.

After we read our passage we got to watch a video to learn more an that was how I know the creatures down there looked ugly! But from last week I looked on my infographic last week and some people said that I should add like a diagram and when I looked at my other group members infographic they added arrows and lines to show like step by step so I decided o do that this week.

Up, up and away... Descriptive Writing

For Writing in Room 5 we have been looking at descriptive writing and using our 5 senses to write a piece of Descriptive writing. This wasn't like a group writing and you have to describe using your 5 senses but what my class had to work individually. My teacher Mrs Lee gave the whole class a prompt which is like a picture that we can write about. There was a girl sitting down and a boy standing up and like putting his hands up. They were both at the top of the hill and looking at a beautiful view.

Oh wait I must have described what the prompt looks like well I hope I did. But anyways Mrs Lee my teacher told us to like write it in first person and like we are there right now so like use present words like I am and stuff like that. We were also allowed to pick a person and if you did we were allowed to talk about the other person to. We also had to come up with a descriptive title to that could hook the reader to read our Descriptive writing.

But without further to do here is my Descriptive writing:
Up, Up and Away….

Introduction
I finally see the end of the Mountain and only 3 more steps to go until I finally reached the end, I have waited 2 hours for this moment!

I’m so exhausted, so I need to sit down. I saw the view it was so beautiful, my eyes were seeing something unbelievable. I couldn’t believe my eyes but it looks like I have to, the Mountains were so tall they were touching the sky, I could see that the world was like wonderful secret place that everyone could be in. My friend Jacob saw the view as well he was amazed by it, his eyes were thinking something else but his body was thinking amazement. We both saw that everything was made by our Creator God and he made everything Perfect.

When I reached the top, I could smell the warm summer breeze touching my toes, my arms, my head and everywhere in my body. The Warm Summer breeze also made my body smell good and smell right. My friend Jacob felt the warm summer breeze go through his body and through his Mouth and the wind made him feel much better. I could also smell the Victory! Coming down on us and giving us the courage to enjoy and to make it back safely.

Mmmm I could taste the breeze going in my mouth and out through my nose. I taste the sea water that is flowing from down below but it still has reached my mouth and has melted inside like an ice cream melting in my hand in this hot weather. I can also taste the warm victory we will have because we have reached the end of the Mountain and I have reached my dream of coming to the end of a Mountain and see the wonderful view they have up here.

I can feel the huge rock that I am sitting on right now and it feels like a piece of metal on top of a beautiful hill that God created. I feel the Victory coming down on us so we can be victorious as anyone else. When I look at the view it makes me feel so thankful that God created this world for us to live in and a World that we can learn and see other people so we can make friends, that’s why I feel so thankful.

When I’m up here I hear birds tweeting and singing their whole heart away, I can also hear the tides from the sea coming closer and closer. The warm summer breeze is so peaceful and loud you can hear it and it’s so beautiful.

Conclusion
You should go to the top of a Mountain so you can see the view. You will be more relaxed. But sadly me and Jacob need to back home. But stay tuned for more adventurous!

Te wiki o te reo Maori

For Reading in Week 8 instead on doing some other work we had to do some Maori work cause it was Maori Language Week! That task was to pick 3-4 tasks and there were 7 tasks all together and I decided to just pick 3 cause I was being a little bit lazy and slack but at least I did some work. I did task 1, 2 and 4 cause I thought they would be quite fun tasks to do. My teacher Mrs Lee told us when we post our 3 or 4 tasks o our blog we had to put all our work on one DLO or we could just post is seperatly but in the same blog post and I chose to just post it seperatly but in the same blog post.

For my 1st task we had to search up 4 Maori words and they were mana, wairua, tapu and mauri, we didn't have to write what all of them mean but we had to choose one word and write what it means to me and then write what it actually means, then we had to make a symbol of what it means, but without further to do here is my google drawing for my 1st task:

For my 2nd task we got to make our own Mihi or like an About me thing, so we had to use another Digital learning object and it was animaker so we like had to add our family ourselves, my favorite sport, my favorite food, we also had to add a greeting at the start and like a goodbye at the end. We had to screencastify it after cause we didn't know how to download an animaker so anyways here it is:

For my last task which was task 4 I to make my own burger so I had to create my own burger then like put arrows beside it and write the Maori word for it so like for example if I had a bun I had to put an arrow beside then put the Maori word for it. So come and see my Maori Burger:

Week 9 Infographic

For Reading this week we read a non-fiction book so an actual true story that can teach you about something. Our non-fiction text is called what causes the Tides? It taught me a lot of things like how many tides there could be in one day, and like what time they come, also what actually causes them and I found this text very interesting. This text had so much information it made me want to read it again, but I knew I could so I could get information for my infographic.

Just like last week we didn't pt it on a shared slideshow we had to actually put it directly on our blog and we still have to comment on two people but we have to comment on their blogs so if you wanna see who commented on mine look at the comments.

Compassion!

In Class we have been learning about the different CERR Values in our School which are:Compassion, Excellence, Responsibility and Respect. So Mrs Lee told us too choose one CERR Value and put it into a powtoon which is a DLO that you can use to make something or like to teach others about different things. The CERR Value that I chose was Compassion. I chose this CERR Value because lots of people in my class are not showing this CERR Value and it's like all the CERR Values in one. What we had to add in our powtoon was: How did Jesus show Compassion and how I myself can show Compassion.

Some people in the class were getting really frustrated because they didn't know what to do and lots of people in the class were using powtoon for the first time and I was one of them, but I kept on trying and I finished it and made a Masterpiece.

The thing that I enjoyed doing was playing around with it cause it was fun trying out the different things that you could do.

The thing that I found difficult was trying to screencastify it of my blog post because I had to retry to times cause I forgot to press  few buttons but at least I got it on my blog post now!

The Homesick Weightlifter

For Writing in room 5 our teacher Mrs Lee told us to do another collaborative writing with the same people we did on our other collaborative writing, this time Mrs Lee did not choose the Character, Setting and Problem for us because we had to use this thing called story starters and it's when you spin a lever and it gives you like a type of story that you can write about, and there are also other levers on the setting or characters or problem so then if you don't like it you can change it.

My group got write about a homesick weightlifter and we did, but then Mrs Lee said to us after we finish our writing we have to make our own picture book and we still had to work with the same people again. So Mrs Lee came up with two templates that we could use, one was like a writing book and the other one was like an actual book, but Mrs Lee also said that we could make our own template if we wanted, and we had to do it digitally.

My group decided to pick a template and we picked the writing book one, but suddenly we started changing it around and then after we finished out picture book it was all covered in color which is good but surprisingly there was like no more writing book template, my group thought we didn't need a template. But at least we finished.

The thing that I enjoyed doing was making the characters cause it was quite fun sorting out how they look like and I just though it was quite funny and fun at the same time.

One thing I found difficult was the writing because sometimes my group didn't know what to write so we had to think hard but we still did it.

Story Map Week 8

For reading we read about a fiction story and it was called "Deep in the forest", and this story was about 3 boys called Leith, Simon and Jeffrey,  and all of those boys had vivid imaginations so like really strong imaginations. Well they were in there imaginations and they were in the forest looking for wolves to battle. So all of them fought the wolves and the wolves were scratching them and the boys were bleeding out blood and it was horrible! So the three boys decided to split up Leith told Simon and Jeffrey to go left and he would go right, so when Leith started running he got lost so he was really worried, but suddenly his cat Jinny found him and so Leith thought that Jinny could lead him home safely.

So that is basically a summary for the fiction story that my group read. This week we didn't put it in a shared slideshow but we put it into a DLO so on our DLO we had to make a story map. But you must be asking yourself "How are they going to comment on each other"? Well let me answer your question, my teacher Mrs Lee said that we just have to comment directly on their blog post, so your just gonna have to look at the comments and see who commented on mine.

Week 7 Shared Slideshow

This week for reading my group read about Why do earthquakes happen? So we had to make an info graphic and put it on our slideshow. Let me give you a little head start of Why earthquakes happen. How they happen is underground there are plates and when the plates collide they make a vibration but since they are under ground  it depends on like how hard the Tectonic plates hit to make the vibration.

We still had to comment on two people, and those two people who commented on mine were Manuk and Ella. Manuk said: Hello Kylie,
I like your way of planning out a inforgraphic I think its is very good I also Like how you describes all the things that happen before a earthquake happens maybe next time you can add some pictures and then it will be perfect. Ella said: Hi Kylie I really like your work, I like how you you made what you were talking about stand out and how you put a lot of detail in 5 slide alps how you put all the facts that we learnt in , maybe next time you could make the colors a little less bright but it was great, good job.

I will try to work on adding some more pictures Manuk. I will also try and find some colors that are not too bright.

My Favorite Season!

On Week 5 term 3 I think on Tuesday our Principle Mr Norman came to teach us. So for writing he asked us a simple question which was: What is your favorite season? So we had to talk with 2 people and come up with 3 reasons on why they like that season.

My favorite season is Spring. And you will find out why that is my favorite season soon. After we talked with two people we shared our answers with the class. After we did that Mr Norman told us to write 4 paragraphs. So the first paragraph would be the Introduction then 2 reasons why you like that season then the conclusion.

Then on week 6 on Tuesday I think we could add more reasons and that's what I did. Then after we finished our writing we could add something to symbolizes your favorite season. But it had to be made by you. So we could trace or like add shapes to make something or stuff like that.

So here is my piece of writing and my symbol:
Introduction
Don’t you hate it when it’s so cold in Winter and it’s so hot in Summer, and way too warm in Autumn.
Well there's this season that can make you feel happy and joyful, it is my favorite season… Spring!

My favorite Season is Spring because when the flowers are not blooming in Winter, in Spring they do
bloom and it makes the flowers really pretty. Since Spring is after Winter the flowers in Winter get
really branchy and there’s like no flowers on them but in spring it makes the flowers bloom and when
it’s spring, it makes the flowers smell really good. If you want to take nice photos in front of a really
pretty tree then spring is the best because all the flowers will bloom and the flowers will be really nice. 

Spring is my favorite season because, you get to play around and do fun activities like playing your
favorite sport because it’s not too cold and not too Hot to play your favorite sport. You can also go
outside and play with your friends and play games outside in the warm weather. An example for this
is if you go outside and play in the winter you will get really cold and maybe you could get sick, and if
you play outside in the summer you could get a sunburn and that will really hurt. But if you go out and
play in autumn leaves could get in your eyes when your running and that will sting. But in spring you
get to play at whatever time because none of those things will happen.

In spring animals start to give birth. It is also the time when fly's and bugs don’t go around the house
and so you don’t need to waste your time catching them. In Spring, different animals come out and in
the mornings birds will be singing. For example, in winter the animals don’t give birth and the birds
won’t be singing in the mornings because it’s too cold. In Summer some animals give birth to their
young but not all of the animals.

When it is Spring you get to go on a hike and get some exercise on a nice day. When you go for a
hike you can take pictures and also get your body exercised at the exact time. You can also see
new things and new places. For example, if you feel sick, you can go out and hike because it can
exercise your body and you can have some fresh air.

Conclusion 
These are some reasons why I love the season Spring! Now you know my favorite, what’s your
