Oakley Creek l Reading

It has been quite a long time since i have posted something so today is the day I get to post! I hope you all had a great holiday. But today I would like to post about my reading so every week I will be posting about my reading. This week my group has been reading a story called Oakley Creek, Oakley Creek is a story about a girl called Faith lying to her mum and she is going with her friend Destiny to this place called Oakley Creek on a Saturday and she told her Mum that she is going to school. Then when she gets to Oakley Creek she gets caught by her Mum, brother and teacher. Some of you might really like this book. Stay tuned for next week for the book I read

Advertisement of our school

 Hello everyone! So for cyber smart we had to get into groups of 2 or three and I chose to be with Celine and Mya. But before we get onto anything else here is a quick reminder for you. Wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice your social distancing and if you are sick stay home and try and get better and if you are sick and you need to go to the shops then bring a mask and wear it. Now lets get back onto the fun work! 

What we had to do was make our own advertisement about are school so my group decided to go on an iPad and record different clips of our school so here it is:

Something I enjoyed was recording the different clips.

Something I found difficult was trying to figure out how to control and how to make our advertisement on the computer.

Japan Christmas

 Hello everyone! Today's learning is going to be about Christmas around the world! Before we get onto those stuff I am going to be telling you about what you need to do cause obviously this virus is still around so please wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice social distancing and if you are sick try and stay home and drink medicine. And if you re sick and you really need to go to the shops and get something then wear masks so we can stop the spread of the virus and just pray that it goes soon enough.

Now time for what we had to do. So what room 6 had to do was research about different countries and find out what they do on Christmas day or Christmas eve and how they celebrate it and there were a lot of countries to search about and find out and then at the end we had to show the class what we learned about the country we were researching on and what they do and how they celebrate it. Then we had to make a DLO and post it on our blog teaching others about what the country we were researching about of how they celebrate Christmas Day! I chose Japan!

Something I found difficult was trying to present it to the class cause lots of other people said my ideas but it was okay

Fake News Learning

 Hello everyone! Today's learning is going to be about fake news and how to know that you are about to read or see or watch fake news. But before we get onto those certain things I am going to tell you guys what to do through this tough situation so please stay hoe if you are sick and wear masks everywhere you go if you really need to go somewhere and your sick and practice your social distancing and try and work from home if you can or do your school work at home if you are still in school, now back onto my learning.

So for cyber smart this week and last week kind of is evaluating media. So what we had to do was watch a video about fake news and how to tell what is fake news so I'm going to tell you a few hints on how to see what is fake news before I show you what we had to do after. Here is a few hints on how to tell it is fake news: there will be a .co at the end and if you see pictures on the site or video search them up and see if they took it off another site and then if they did it is fake and here is one more hint is if you see fake dates that don't exist or if you see a year that is like 2024 then it's fake cause it is still 2020.

Now for what we had to do was make our own fake news so here is mine:

One thing I enjoyed was getting to make my own funny fake news cause I found it interesting on how people can make fake news and how they make it look real

Something that i found difficult was trying to make it look real cause all the other fake news looked so real so thats what I tried to do

My learning about Temperatures

 Hello everyone!

For the past few weeks I have been learning about temperatures. What we had to do was obviously learn about temperatures so what we had to do was go through a slideshow and then answer the questions on them on a different slide. Before I get onto other stuff I am going to do another reminder for all of you and I do this cause I don't want the virus to spread I want it to stop so please wash your hands for 20 seconds and practice your social distancing and if you are sick stay home and go see a doctor and just stay safe and be careful. Now back onto temperatures, after we filled in the questions what we had to do was answer some more questions which was minusing numbers to make them into negative numbers then after that we had to make our own thermometer and order some temperatures from coldest to hottest on a thermometer. Then after that we had to answer some more questions on a google doc and the last question asked us to make a line graph and putting 14 temperatures for 2 weeks. 

Then finally after we learned about temperatures we had to make a DLO to show our understanding of temperatures so here is mine and I know it might be a little basic but I tried:

Ballads

 Hello Everyone!

So for the past few weeks we have been focusing on ballads for writing and we had to write some about camp. If you don't know what a ballad is then you have came to the right place but before I tell you what a ballad poem is I am going to give you another reminder about the virus. Wash your hand for 20 seconds and if you are sick stay home and social distance and wear masks when you need to. Now a ballad is when you have 5 lines and the two lines on the top have to rhyme and the next two lines have to rhyme and the last line has to rhyme with the top two lines so it basically cause like A A B B A to make it easier for you to understands.

Anyways here is my Ballad about camp:

A.The night was cold 

A.Everyone’s voices were bold

B.I needed to speak

B.But then the teacher took a peak 

A.Then “BE QUIET” we were told

A.The night was silent

A.Then I became a giant

B.The talking started again

B.And then the footsteps began

A.Then Celine started talking about Kobe Bryant

A.I heard someone snoring

A. It started to become a little boring

B.Here came the talking

B.Then here came the teacher stalking

A.When the teacher left everyone came roaring

What is Media?

 Hello everybody! I am back posting with some new good content and today's post is going to be about Cyber smart. So room 6 just came back from technology and we came back and now what we had to do was watch two videos and learn about 'what is media.' Media can be everywhere around you and it can be apps but it's not just different apps it can also be posters and billboards trying to pull you into what they want you to do. For example if you see a billboard of a guy drinking coke what the person is trying to make you do is buy coke cause they are trying to lock you into it.

What our task was to make our own media and it had to be about something that happened at school. I decided to make a News Poster about our school camp and it was about the students rating the food that we got their at camp. We had to add comments to the post and we had to add information about the topic which was St Bernadette's students rating the food at camp and we also had to add click bates which are obviously not real but just pretend it is.
